Koala Woman Says
Centred on Werribee, there would have been koalas in this landscape at white settlement, but they are practically gone with only three sightings in the last 15 years, probably younger Koalas dispersing from the You Yangs in the west, the closest decent habitat. Most of this electorate was originally grassland, what Koala habitat was there has been totally cleared with a small, fragmented strip remaining along the Werribee River.
