Ballarat

Koala Woman Says

AKF knows this area very well having had a Field Officer embedded in Ballarat City Council for 10 years and these are the only koalas in Victoria managed through a Koala Plan of Managed enforced by VCAT. Even with this level of protection it is rare to see Koalas between Ballarat and Buninyong and they have largely disappeared from the Creswick area. There does appear to be reasonably large populations in the Daylesford-Trentham area and Wombat State Forest as well as the Brisbane Ranges, but I still think AKF numbers are too high and of course the Commonwealth Government numbers are completely incorrect.
